New to Our Offering: Calligraphy Classes
For the third time, the Benedictine Abbey is opening its doors to culture enthusiasts and offering inspiring encounters in a unique atmosphere.
A special focus this year is on the calligraphy courses, which are being offered for the first time. Participants will immerse themselves in the centuries-old tradition of monastic calligraphy, work with pen and ink, and experience the blend of creativity, concentration, and slowing down. In addition to the introductory courses, the “Writing, Silence, and History” workshop weekend offers an opportunity for an in-depth exploration of the art of beautiful writing.

Organ Summer and Special Tours
In addition to calligraphy, the Cultural Summer features other attractive events: The Engelberg Organ Summer brings renowned organists to play Switzerland’s largest organ, while special guided tours of the monastery gardens and family tours offer fascinating insights into the history and daily life of the monastery. A contemplative room installation also invites visitors to rediscover art and spirituality within the historic premises.
