The Hotel Sonnwendhof soon in new splendor

The Hotel Sonnwendhof, part of the Monastery Guest Facilities, is currently undergoing extensive renovations. After four rooms were redesigned last year, a further eight rooms will follow this year. At the same time, the entire reception area, including the lounge with Honesty Bar, is being given a fresh, modern look.

Engelberg Abbey is proud that almost all the work is being carried out by its own companies. The teams from Kloster Schreinerei, Renovation, Kraftwerk Tagenstal (electrical) and Housekeeping are working hand in hand to ensure that the Hotel Sonnwendhof soon shines in new splendor. They are supported by external partners: Stohr Wohneinrichtungen AG, Marcel Waser, Platten & Handwerk, Maler Goran and Sapperlott Engelberg.
From December 13, 2025, the Hotel Sonnwendhof team will start the winter season and welcome its guests with warmth and hospitality.

By the way: On December 16, 2025, you will have the opportunity to view the newly renovated rooms and the new reception area as part of the Engelberg Advent Window between 5.00 – 7.00 pm.
