Further training for fire officers and commanders
For the third time, prospective fire officers and commanders from Obwalden and Nidwalden attended further training in Engelberg. The commanders and their deputies attended the course in the rooms of the Abbey School and the Benedictine monastery. They were confronted with all aspects of the extensive tasks of a fire department commander by Toni Käslin, fire inspector for the canton of Obwalden and Nidwalden. “Thanks to the premises provided for the training within the monastery grounds, the distances were short and we were able to incorporate one or two events into the training on site within this listed building.” For the fire inspector, such training locations and training objects are a stroke of luck. Deputy Fire Service Inspector Urs Röthlisberger was the course instructor for the prospective fire officers.
