Exhibition in the servants’ quarters of Engelberg Abbey

“Gold ground” refers to the painting technique in which gold leaf is used as a painting ground. Ubiquitous until the 15th century, the gold leaf ground was no longer an issue in the art scene for a long time. From Saturday, July 5, 2025, Gregorio Piccoli, who lives in Italy, will be showing exclusive works using this rediscovered painting technique at Engelberg Abbey. The exhibition will run until August 16, 2025.
