Urs von Arb is the new rector from August 1, 2026
At the end of the current school year, there will be a change in the principal’s office at Stiftsschule Engelberg. Tobias Barmettler is leaving the school after many years of dedicated service to take over the management of the Nidwalden secondary school from the coming school year. Engelberg Abbey School would like to thank him warmly for his great commitment and valuable work.
Abbot Christian Meyer has appointed Urs von Arb as the new principal of Engelberg Abbey School with effect from August 1, 2026. The Benedictine monastery of Engelberg and Engelberg Abbey School are delighted to welcome Urs von Arb, an experienced personality, to the school with its rich tradition.
