Affordable living space for Engelberg: planning application submitted

The project presented in May 2023 to create affordable living space for Engelberg is on track. The three institutions responsible for the project – the Benedictine monastery of Engelberg, the municipality of Engelberg and the civic community of Engelberg – were recently able to submit the planning application to the Engelberg building authority.

It comprises the construction of a total of 93 residential and studio units. In the six residential buildings and on the attic floor of the commercial building, 48 residential units with 2.5 to 5.5-room apartments are planned. The 45 studio apartments and other 2.5-room apartments are all located in the commercial building and are intended for hotels and businesses that urgently need employee apartments in Engelberg and are unable to build apartments for their staff themselves.
