Monastery operations

Various businesses belong to Engelberg Monastery. Today, they are largely managed by competent secular specialists with extensive experience. The businesses also carry out work that is not directly related to the monastery.

The monastery administration manages the administrative affairs of Engelberg Monastery, in particular it is responsible for the following:

Benedictine hospitality

Even when he lived in his cave in Subiaco, St. Benedict received visitors and thus established Benedictine hospitality. This hospitality has been practiced in Engelberg since the monastery was founded in 1120. It naturally applies to all restaurants.
